Why people pick it
The DOUGLAS is the boutique half of Parq. Its own page calls it “this 188 room hotel”, inspired by British Columbia, with natural touches and contemporary finishes. Its lobby bar, D/6 Lounge, is up on the sixth floor and opens onto the rooftop park, so the hotel's social room sits at tree level rather than at street level.
Marriott's page for the hotel goes further: it calls the DOUGLAS “the anchor hotel to the Vancouver Canucks” and the place to start a night at Rogers Arena or BC Place. If your whole trip is built around a game, that is the hotel leaning into exactly what you came for.
Three moods
The room page describes three styles rather than one standard look:
- I
The modernist one
Clean lines and lavish textures, described as a chic backdrop for the well curated.
- II
The bright one
Clean bones meant as a backdrop for bold artwork; fresh and playful, with quirky moments.
- III
The moody one
A youthful edge with respect for the past; robust tones and stylish accessories.
You cannot always choose the mood when booking, and the hotel does not say which floors carry which style. If you care, write it in the request; we pass it on, with no promises.

What the D/6 next door means for your sleep
D/6 is the lobby bar, and on Friday and Saturday its bar runs until 3 a.m. That is great if you want one more drink after the encore. If you are a light sleeper, mention it: ask for a higher floor, away from the sixth. We cannot promise a floor, but the hotel can only try if someone asks.
Getting to the arena from here
Rogers Arena is described by Parq as one block away; BC Place is right next to the building. On a Canucks night you can be in your seat about as fast as you can be at the bar downstairs. The full walking notes are on game days.
Upgrading
The DOUGLAS suites are where it gets interesting: a grand piano, pool tables, a foosball table and terraces. See the DOUGLAS suites. To book a room here directly, use the hotel's own page, or send us the dates and we will check for you.
