The big three
Parq's page for the DOUGLAS mentions “three lavish luxury suites”. Marriott's suite page names them: the DEN, the LOFT and Apartment 108. Each sits on two levels. Each is built around socialising. None has a published size.
- DENtwo levels
The DEN Suite
Downstairs: an oversized sectional, a fireplace, a billiards table, a four-person dining area and a marble wet bar. A floating staircase leads to two bedrooms overlooking the city and BC Place. The feature bathroom has a rain shower and a Japanese soaking tub.
- LOFTtwo levels
The LOFT Suite
A grand piano and a curved staircase at the entrance, leather chairs by the fireplace. Upstairs: a wet bar, dining for six, and a private outdoor patio with a table for eight. The bedroom looks over BC Place Stadium.
- 108two levels
Apartment 108
A sectional facing False Creek and a foosball table downstairs; upstairs, a pool table beside a freestanding fireplace and an expansive outdoor patio. The bedroom has gold accents and large windows.
Which one, for which crowd
The DEN is the one for two couples: two bedrooms upstairs, the games and the bar downstairs. The LOFT is the one for a dinner before the show, since the patio table seats eight; it has one bedroom. Apartment 108 is the one with water in the view, False Creek instead of the stadium, and room to spread out on the patio.
The simpler suites
| Suite | What the hotel says | View |
|---|---|---|
| One Bedroom Suite | Separate living area, plush seating, sleek bedroom | BC Place Stadium |
| Corner Suite | Floor-to-ceiling windows, living area and private bedroom | Stadium views |
| Junior Suite | Open plan, king bed, warm lighting, rich textures | Park Level and BC Place Stadium |
The Junior Suite looks onto the Park Level, the sixth-floor garden, as well as the stadium. If you like waking up to trees instead of a car park, it is worth asking for.
Noise, neighbours and the sixth floor
Suites made for parties sit in a hotel with other guests. The DOUGLAS lobby bar, D/6, runs late at weekends. If you book a big suite for a group, keep the patio quiet after a reasonable hour and read the hotel's house rules when you check in. If you book a normal room and want quiet, ask to be away from the party suites; we will pass that on.
Accessibility and practical bits
The hotel says accessible rooms are limited and chosen while booking. Two-level suites rely on stairs; the hotel describes staircases in the DEN, the LOFT and Apartment 108, and mentions no lift inside them. Plan around that.
Good fit
- Four friends after a stadium show
- A birthday with a dinner on the patio
- Fans who want the game replay on a big sofa
Think twice
- Anyone who cannot use stairs
- Light sleepers on a Saturday
- A tight budget on a big event night
Compare with the JW side's Sky Suite and Parq Villa, or send a request and let the desk check which of these is free on your night.
