Two nights · Friday to Sunday

Friday to Sunday, built around one show

You came for one night of music. Here is how to turn it into a proper weekend without a car, with every stop inside a walk, a ferry or a train ride.

Friday

  1. 3p.m.

Land at YVR, take the Canada Line

YVR says the line reaches downtown in under 30 minutes. Get off at Yaletown–Roundhouse, which Parq puts 800 metres from the building.

  2. 4p.m.

    Check in

JW or the DOUGLAS; see both towers.

  3. 5p.m.

    The seawall

Walk out to the False Creek Seawall. The DOUGLAS suggests a run or stroll with the locals along it.

  4. 7p.m.

    Yaletown dinner

Brick sidewalks, outdoor tables, dog parks, as the DOUGLAS describes it. Or stay in and eat at Honey Salt.

  5. 10p.m.

    Early night

    Tomorrow is the long one.

Saturday: show day

  1. 10a.m.

    Chinatown

Established in 1886, the hotel's guide notes, with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and the Millennium Gate. Stadium–Chinatown station is 850 metres from Parq.

  2. 12p.m.

    Gastown

Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood: galleries, shops, lunch.

  3. 3p.m.

    Rest

Back to the room. Feet up. Charge the phone.

  4. 5p.m.

    Dinner at The Victor

Book the first sitting; dinner starts at 5.

  5. 7p.m.

    The show

BC Place is next door; Rogers Arena is a block away.

  6. 11p.m.

    D/6

The bar runs to 3 a.m. on Saturday. You do not need to stay that long.

Sunday

  1. 10a.m.

    Brunch

    The Victor serves Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Honey Salt from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  2. 12p.m.

    Floor 17

A treatment at Spa by JW (book ahead) or the Aqua Lounge tub, open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  3. 2p.m.

    Granville Island by boat

Little ferries cross False Creek; the Aquabus says its boats stop every 15 minutes or less. The DOUGLAS suggests the boat to Granville Island.

  4. 5p.m.

    Canada Line back to YVR

Yaletown–Roundhouse is the station on the airport line.

Swaps for a wet weekend

Science World sits in a geodesic dome with an OMNIMAX theatre and is reachable along the seawall; the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park calls itself Canada's largest, with more than 70,000 animals. Both come from the hotels' own lists of things to do. More in our wet-weather note.

Routes for this plan

YVR to Parq by transit · Chinatown to Parq on foot · Granville Island to Parq by transit

Room request · not a booking

Encore: a bed after the show

Tickets for BC Place or Rogers Arena in hand? Send the night and the morning after; we come back with what the JW Marriott and the DOUGLAS have open, so the walk home after the last song is a lift ride.

Ask the desk for a room

This desk belongs to False Creek Nights, not to the hotel. We check what is open for your dates with the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner and answer by email. We never ask for a card, and a request is not a booking.

Got it. The desk answers by email, normally within one business day, with what is open for those nights and the price. Nothing is booked and nothing is charged until you say yes.

How this page is paid for: if a request sent here becomes a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner that completes it pays us a commission. You are never charged by us. Who pays for this site.
